Business process management (BPM) is a concept that underlines the aspects of ensuring that all the activities in an organization are effective and efficient. In this concept, information technology and aspects of management meet and bring a revolution to the techniques, methods and tools, which give the business the edge to enact, design, analyze and then control the business processes at the operational level (Solveit n.d.). At the heart of the business operations are the applications, people, information sources, documents and the organizations. All the changes that have to be made in the organization have to be run through the people in the firm, since at the end of day; human resources are at the core of the inputs.
Therefore, People Change Management (PCM) refers to the thoughtful implementation of the strategies, planning, consultation, as well as the involvement of the staff that are going to be affected by the changes. Every time management comes up with the desired changes in the organization, there must be a protocol followed to ensure that these changes are smoothly implemented and staffs being engaged. In cases where the management tries to impose changes on the staffs without prior consultation and review, there is bound to be conflict arising from the staffs that are going to be affected by these changes. In most of the cases, they feel that they are being manipulated as they have not been involved in the formulation of the suggested changes (Giataganas 2011). This results in poorly effected changes and therefore, low output.
Involving the affected parties also means that the staff can contribute to the planning and implementation of changes, whereby the load of the same is lightened for the management team. Change has to start always at the level of the employee, for the value to be felt through the entire organization or the department in question.
One of the most crucial aspects of the element of change, as such, in any organization, relates to the complexity of the individual reactions associated with it.
