Clearly state and explain the main purpose of Hahn’s analysis of Benedict XVI approach to biblical theology
Hahn’s analysis of Benedict XVI biblical theology is to emphasize some of the important things he raises that resonate with the way he understands the bible. He uses excerpts from the Benedict XVI works to bolster his points. He agrees with Benedict on the way the Bible should be interpreted especially the old and the New Testament highlighting the need for faith in order to understand the biblical text. Additionally, Hahn shares the perspective of the bible with Benedict that is having a symphonic view of the old and New Testament. Concisely, Hahn was echoing the Words of Benedict XVI on the Word of God, the reason it was written and how to derive meaning from the same. He asserts the role of Christians and how they should approach the biblical texts to understand the reason why Jesus Christ came to this earth. In the continued reflection of the Words of Benedict XVI, Hahn shows that he shares his views on the centrality of the scriptures as shown in Benedict XVI pontificate. He also discusses the church’s faith and how it should derive the meaning of the biblical texts through faith. Additionally, he reflects on the concept of Christology and the law and how the two complement each other rather than oppose each other. All the concepts Hahn discusses in this article aim to show that Christ is the centre of the universe and even the historical biblical texts which are primarily Israeli history are made universal history through Christ.

Both the old and the New Testaments are complimentary and therefore reading any one of them exclusive of the other leaves the reader with gaps of knowledge. For example, reading the Old Testament alone will only make the reader understand the history of Israel as a nation. The reader will only be descending to historicism. On the other hand, focusing on the New Testament the reader cannot fully comprehend the journey towards Jesus Christ. The history, the events and promises God gave to his people and his plan to save them and how it came to fruition. There will...
