The Union of Concerned Scientists is a nonprofit science advocacy organization located in the United States. The fundamental aims of UCS are protecting the rights of scientists, training scientists to be comprehensively engaged with the public and media. UCS also pushes the media and policymakers for better representation of the current state of scientific understanding on a variety of issues. The organization channels its concern through various approaches. For instance, UCS's website has a section of on Our Failing Food System. There is an advocacy for transforming our food system to ensure a healthy, sustainably grown food for all. The organization is also critical about an outdated, unsustainable system of industrial agriculture. This unsustainable industrial system has irreparable damage to soil, water, and the entire ecosystem.
