Definition of industrial/organizational psychology
Industrial/organizational psychology applies the scientific study of human behavior in the workplace to ensure customer, employee, and employer satisfaction. The involvement helps maximize productivity since everyone in the setting has the opportunity to approve any activity taking place (Dana, n.d.). For instance, if the employer and customers are satisfied, but the employees are not, inequality will affect the workplace negatively. The employees are a vital factor in the workplace because the basic operations are not achievable without their effort and contribution. The industrial/organizational psychology field is the application of the basic principles of psychology in a workplace to enhance fun in the setting and excellent productivity.
The different types of workplace environments determine the level of productivity in an organization. What is it like to go meeting a grumpy boss or colleague every morning? What results in misunderstandings in an office? Most companies have failed not because they could not succeed, but because they implement a wrong impression at the workplace. The introduction of industrial/organizational psychology filled the gap by helping individuals understand that when workers are happy, performance is enhanced. The iteration is seen in the high levels of production if a workplace adopts and implements the lessons in the field appropriately (Dana, n.d.). Hence, the significant idea in the field is ensuring the satisfaction of everyone in the workplace, despite their mere contribution and relationship with the organization.
Job analysis and evaluation methods
The continued success and achievement by Apple results from the unique organizational culture in all business operations. Most firms stay in the dilemma of why they keep on failing until they understand that the factor is vital to the attainment of all underlying goals. According to Meyer (2019), Apple has an organizational culture that paves the way for human resources to support and achieve various strategic purposes. Otherwise, the objectives could remain a dream or anticipation for the company. Apples' cultural traits work in hand with the desire for innovation (Meyer, 2019). Everyone in the company works with the drive to creating new and better things as technology advances.
Meyer (2019) argues that Apple is in a better competitive position in the delivery of online services, information technology, and electronics. Although there are competing organizations like Samsung in the industry, they have not held the position of beating Apple due to its strong and right organizational culture. Also, the company's leadership allows human resources to support the relevance of their business to vast countries around the world. Apple is focused on executing a culture of becoming the best in everything, including; creativity, and secrecy (Meyer, 2019). All the people in the workplace work with the characteristics in the organizational culture to maintain value and sales.
