Please include information about this person's personal and professional background, management style and skills and research about why this person is (or is not) such an effective manager/leader. An introduction3-5 pages (double-spaced, no more than 12 pt. font) of cited research in APA format. You should access the online library and use only articles that you find there.

Gary C. Kelly is the current chair and CEO of Southwest Airline Inc. He began his career at the enterprise as Controller then was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance Officer. After that, he became the Executive Vice President and CFO before becoming the current CEO and Chairperson of Southwest Airline in 2004 up to date. There is no doubt of the tremendous achievement that the company has experienced since Mr. Kelly assumed the Office. Through transformational leadership, Garry Kelly has enabled Southwest Airline Inc to be the USA's largest airline based on its bagging of the majority of the domestic passengers it ferries across the globe. The company was recently ranked eighth worldwide in 2017 by the Fortune Magazine survey and Mr. Kelly appearing in the top five performing CEOs who are underrated. Based on the brief elaborations, the essay herein presents the leadership qualities that Gary C. Kelly implements in the company through exploration of his personal, professional and management backgrounds.
Garry Kelly was born in 1955 in San Antonio and later married Carol of whom they have two children Caroline and Elizabeth. He attended Churchill High School in 1973 and was a great footballer. His talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Texas at El Paso, but he transferred to Austin to study his dream course; accounting. He did his BBA in Accounting at the University of Texas. His early life experience began to shape when he was hired as an Audit manager for the Arthur Young & Co. in Dallas and then joined Systems Center Inc. as a controller. This company would later be part of the Irving-based Sterling Software (Guinto, 2007).
Gary Kelly is an achiever who is destined for greater heights. At 62 years of age, Mr. Kelly has held numerous executive positions at different enterprises with all the positions leading to a promotion. Currently, Garry Kelly holds Southwest Airline at his heart and as a friend who he has been part of the enterprise for more than thirty years. He is one of the senior staff in the enterprise which has worked under various positions. He joined the company in 1986 as the Controller and later became the Chief Financial Officer in 1889 to 2004 (Miranda, 2013). At the same period, he was the Vice President of Finance up to 2001and became Executive Vice President of which he got his promotion as the CEO in 2004.
On a separate capacity, Gary Kelly was appointed the President of Southwest Co. which was affiliated Inc of Air-Tran Airways, Inc, in 2008 to January 2017.
