Respond to the questions in this assignment posted on Blackboard regarding the moderator/s and show critical thinking in evaluating both content and delivery of each Presidential or Vice-Presidential candidate in a minimum 2 pp. (maximum 3 pp.) double-spaced, typed paper with 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, with 1” margins. How did each candidate use nonverbal communication to make their statements believable or not? Provide examples for each candidate. Consider political correctness, honesty (backed up with fact and viable examples?) respectfulness, name-calling, attacks, interruption, agreement, etc. 3. Without regard to which candidate you plan to vote for but through objective observation, overall, which candidate did you find most effective? Least effective? Why? 4. Conclude with an explanation of who you think won the debate and support your reasons why.

1. Study the role of the moderator/s. Who is/are the moderators? How does he or she introduce the topic and participants? How are the speakers guided with debate rules and their time limits? Where do the questions asked come from? How are the proceedings concluded by the Moderator?
The second presidential debate which was scheduled for 9th October was moderated by CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz. The debate was held at Washington University in St. Louis and used the town-hall format. Turn-taking was indeed essential in this debate because of the obvious fact that the moderators were two. Martha Raddatz of ABC introduced the participants, beginning with the Republican candidate Donald Trump then followed by the Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton.
The topics under discussion often guide debates, and this debate was not any different. Although the moderators introduced the topics to be discussed, the voters chose the subjects through the questions that they asked online as well as from the audience. The online questions were from all voters regardless of their party or candidate affiliation. However, the audience questions were from people who were undecided and were thus not allied to either of the candidates.
After the question segment is over, the moderators concluded the proceedings by thanking the both candidates, the commission of the Washington University as well as the viewers. Finally, viewers are reminded to tune into the final debate that took place at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
2. Observe both of the participants. Are their statements and responses in the debate well prepared and presented and why do you think this? How did each candidate use nonverbal communication to make their statements believable or not? Provide examples for each candidate. Regarding content and substance, did each candidate answer questions fully or dodge them? Again, provide examples for each candidate. Do the candidates respect their time constraints? How do each of the candidates regard the other? Consider political correctness, honesty (backed up with fact and viable examples?) respectfulness, name-calling, attacks, interruption, agreement, etc.
- Both candidates seemed prepared, but some of their statements and responses were not satisfactory. The main reason here could be the fact that they wanted to dodge some questions deliberately.
- While responding to the first question, Hillary Clinton used her hands to show that she expects the ...
