Target Corporation operates in the business of general merchandise and food discount stores and also serves it’s customers on  HYPERLINK ""
 in its online business. It stores are under target and super target brands and the distribution is through a distribution centers network and import warehouses. The distribution centers are located throughout the country and when the products are ordered by the buyers, the manufacturers receive a communication of the orders which are then shipped to the USA (Target, 2010). The corporation imports products from more than 80 different countries and the corporation is the second largest importer in the country. Shipments of the needed merchandise from suppliers are moved from the manufacturers and suppliers to the regional distribution centers and then the products are shipped directly to the target stores all over the world with the exception of items supplied by vendors which are delivered to the Corporation’s consumers with good quality and value and at reasonable price, such items include sodas and greeting cards. Other products such as grocery come from distribution centers of the companies the corporation has partnered with.
By October 2010 Target Corporation had 38 distribution centers across the U.S and to sustain its growth the distribution stores have grown since then. Target Corporation has four import warehouses which receive shipments from manufacturers and suppliers who are overseas they are located at Rialto, California; Lacey Washington; Savannah, Georgia and Suffolk, Virginia. Target also has fulfillment centers which receive internet sales orders from Target.com and help to ship products to the customers who need them in (Target.com, 2011).
