Presentation of different articles indicates that sugar consumption has greatly contributed to the increasing cases of chronic diseases in American society. The discussion herein provides an analysis of different articles addressing the issue on impacts of sugar on health, with the provision of effective approaches to control the inclusion of excess and unnecessary sugar in food products.
The Danger of Sugar Addiction
This article explains the proven scientific effect of sugar on human health, which is mainly related to chronic diseases among the American population. Despite the efforts of food production industries to hide the impacts of sugar content in their products to human health, the effects are experienced through the increasing rate of chronic disease development like diabetes. According to this article, people are addicted to sugar, which results to increase in weight and sicknesses. Consumption of sugar leads to alteration of brain chemistry, thus being considered an addictive drug. The presented characteristic nature of sugar as an addictive product includes being binging, craving, cross-sensitization, and withdrawal effects. This is an indication that sugar presents the same addictive effects as any other drugs like cocaine, which sensitizes the mind when the body needs sugar.
