The Effects of Globalism on Terrorism Research Assignment

 
One of the central challenges for society in the coming years will be anticipating and responding to the impact of an age of accelerated technology, expanded population, globalization and environmental uncertainty.  Examine these themes and consider the broader social, environmental and political impacts they may have on one of the following topics:

 Your research paper will:
Follow standard essay writing with report style formatting. Note that this does not call for an essay-style organization. The report will, however, include elements of the essay discussed previously, such as a clear thesis statement, sections with clear claims and support, and a conclusion that revisits (but does not repeat) your thesis. This report will be a minimum of 5-7 pages in length (1000-1500 words).  You must use a minimum of 5 valid and credible sources. This report will comprise of the following sections of varying lengths:
Title Page
 
Abstract
The abstract is a short (about 100-500 word) summary of the entire paper. It should include: goals and objectives, results, and conclusions. It is usually one of the last parts of the paper to be written.
 
Introduction
The introduction also has three main purposes. First, it provides background and motivation for your topic (usually includes a review of current literature on the topic). Second, it describes the focus and purpose of the paper you are writing. Third, it gives an overview of what is contained in the paper's various sections.
 
Methods/Procedure
This section describes what you did, how you did it, Discuss the research you found and how you decide what was to be included in this paper.
 
 
Results
This section is where you prove your point with the information and points that support you paper. Give graphs and tables of costs, profits, whatever your data is. Also give some description or guide to help the reader recognize your important points.
Conclusions/Discussion:
Here you state what your learned or proved. What are the "take home messages" or major accomplishments of this work? You may also describe interesting observations, new questions, and future work here.
 
Bibliography:  A list of the references you used in the work & writing the paper.
 
Recommendations: Share your plan for action and extend that recommendation to your audience.

Follow APA rules for page formatting and citation. For our purposes, APA essay format includes a standard cover page with relevant information and proper formatting, as well as APA-style headers and pagination throughout the report, a complete references page, and careful, accurate in-text citation. Note: An abstract is NOT required for this assignment. 
Use support from at least FIVE credible, reputable outside sources. Although your own ideas will appear throughout the report to link everything together, you must also integrate evidence from outside sources. The Academic Search Premier Database has been specifically recommended for students of Mohawk College. As academic sources are expected at a post-secondary level, this assignment will give you a chance to familiarize yourself with database use and professional content.
