For this assignment, you will be writing an argument that is supported by current research on your topic. The paper can make use of any of the writing genres you’ve learned in ENG 121 and ENG 122. This means you could write in a single genre like compare/contrast, description, or refutation, or you could combine genres For example, you could write an argument that contains a section that uses cause/effect, a section that uses refutation, and a conclusion that contains a proposal. Because this is a longer paper, you will also want to make sure that you provide a full overview of your topic and address as many areas of support for your thesis that you can. The essay should include:
• An introduction that engages the reader, provides background information, definitions, and/or historical context on your topic, and a clear thesis statement.
• A body section that contains 3-6 pieces of evidence supported by current research.
• A conclusion that brings closure to your argument, discusses your findings, and uses that discusses to make recommendations or look to the future.
