The more roast pigs there are, the more one is considered blessed and the more one is regarded highly within the community. If one will impress the whole neighborhood by butchering many pigs for roasting, then it would translate to high respect and high stature in the community. In modern times, a roast pig has become a symbol so much so that politicians inviting others to party on roast pigs can even garner many votes for himself come Election Day.
To accentuate the symbol, roast pigs often come in red boxes with the color red symbolizing success and power. Sometimes, the roast pig comes with a red apple on its mouth adding on to the force of the symbol. Sometimes it is garnished with red cherries CITATION Mar09 \l 1033 (Swislocki, 2009).
