Transportation defines logistics as a system for delivering products timely and efficiently. The modern logistical network exists because of historical, logical routes that started with the Greek military officers whose main task was providing weapons, medical supplies, and food at the right place and time during the war (Hess 2017). The system was l employed in both world wars but later came of age during the Second World War. During the war, American logisticians proved much for both the Japanese and the Germans. After the war ended, many logistics companies came up in the 1950s. The need for an affordable system that delivers service quickly was a priority for companies going global. The early military logisticians became the first managers of the global logistic companies.
