The RN to BSN program at Grand Canyon University meets the requirements for clinical competencies as defined by CCNE and AACN using nontraditional experiences for practicing nurses. These experiences come in the form of direct and indirect care experiences in which licensed nursing students engage in learning within the context of their hospital organization, their specific care discipline, and their local communities. As the country focuses on the restructuring of the U.S. health care delivery system, nurses will continue to play an important role. It is expected that more and more nursing jobs will become available out in the community, and fewer will be available in acute care hospitals. 1.Write an informal presentation (500-700 words) to educate nurses about how the practice of nursing is expected to grow and change. Include the concepts of continuity or continuum of care, accountable care organizations (ACO), medical homes, and nurse-managed health clinics. 2.Share your presentation with nurse colleagues on your unit or department and ask them to offer their impressions of the anticipated changes to health care delivery and the new role of nurses in hospital settings, communities, clinics, and medical homes. 3.In 800-1,000 words summarize the feedback shared by three nurse colleagues and discuss whether their impressions are consistent with what you have researched about health reform. 4.A minimum of three scholarly references are required for this assignment. While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. The nursing profession contributes a significant number of workers on the American workforce. According to a recently concluded research it amounts for approximately 3 million workers and the figure is expected to rise rapidly. Nursing has a bright future especially because of various recommendations that have been introduced and adopted to the industry. The recommended policies will ensure that they actively participate in the health sector. This paper focuses on the future of nursing plus some of my friend views on the subject.

Concepts of continuity or continuum of care
The current healthcare system receives a lot criticism for various reasons. Some argue that it provides more ‘episodic’ care to patients more than it provides care for patients suffering from chronic illnesses (Laskowski-Jones, 2011). This means that it fails to conduct follow-ups for patients with acute diseases. Others argue patients with chronic diseases do not receive adequate treatment. The truth is that with the implementation of these recommendation nurses will have more powers whereby they will be made full partners with other medical practitioners. This will play a significant role in the communication between the two (Sutter-Barrett, Sutter-Dalrymple, & Dickman, 2015). With easy communication, it will be easier to follow-up on patients. When treating patients with acute diseases communication between the two is fundamental. Nurses will be required to participate fully in the medical profession with the restriction of power.
Accountable care organizations
A bill policy introduced in 2014 by the department of health ensures patients of better medical care provision through the utilization of Accountable care organizations. ACO will play a very crucial role of ensuring that they are partnerships and communication among all medical care practitioners. The bill provides a platform for teamwork and coordination among ambulatory services, nurses, long-term care and acute care.
