Preparing the assignment
- Follow these guidelines when completing this assignment. Speak with your faculty member if you have questions.
- Please make sure you do not duplicate articles within your group.
- The paper will include the following:
- Clinical Question (30 points/15%)
- Describe the problem: What is the focus of your group’s work?
- Significance of problem: What health outcomes result from your problem? Or what statistics document this is a problem? You may find support on websites for government or professional organizations.
- Purpose of the paper: What will your paper do or describe?
***Please note that although most of these questions are the same as you addressed in paper 1, the purpose of this paper is different. You can use your paper 1 for items 1 & 2 above, including any faculty suggestions for improvement provided as feedback.
- Use Evidence Matrix Table Template: Data Summary - (60 points/30%)
Categorize items in the Evidence Matrix Table, including proper intext citations and reference list entries for each article.

- Study Design
- Sample Size and Selection
- Data Collection Methods
- Major Findings (Evidence)
- Description of Findings (60 points/30%)
Describe the data in the Evidence Matrix Table, including proper intext citations and reference list entries for each article.
- Compare and contrast variables within each study.
- What are the study design and procedures used in each study; qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method study, levels of confidence in each study, etc.?
- Participant demographics and information.
- Instruments used, including reliability and validity.
- How do the research findings provide evidence to support your clinical problem, or what further evidence is needed to answer your question?
- Next steps: Identify two questions that can help guide the group’s work.
- Conclusion (20 points/10%)
Review major findings in a summary paragraph.

1 Describe the Problem
Over the years, there has been an increase in debate regarding obesity. The main reason has been that the USA and the world have been increasing rates of obesity as time progresses. For instance, the recent research by Kwok et al. (2020) shows that obesity among individuals residing in the USA is 40%. Even though the government has been trying to collaborate with healthcare providers to employ measures to control it, it has not yet succeeded. One way to control this trend is by understanding the causes of obesity and then managing them. Even though many factors make people suffer from obesity, the main cause is the diet that the people consume (Misra et al., 2019). For instance, Li et al. (2020) highlighted that food with high sugar and fat content usually increases the risk of obesity. The main reason for conducting this research is that the group wants to understand the link between changes in diet and obesity rates.
2 Significance of the Problem
The main reason for conducting this research is because of the impact that it will have on the community. For instance, the main reason for understanding it is it will help to understand measures to manage it, helping to control the negative impact that it has exposed to people. One of the common health conditions that obesity has caused is increased rates of high blood pressure, which has caused people to suffer from high mortality rates. Ryan et al. (2020) have also highlighted that obesity has been the main cause of stroke and heart disease. Moreover, other instances have exposed people to breathing problems, sleep apnea, body pain, and limited physical functioning. There have also been other instances where these individuals suffer from anxiety and other mental disorders which negatively affect their quality of life.
3 Purpose of the Paper
The paper will check how fatty and sugary diets have been critical in increasing obesity cases in the USA. This analysis aims to understand the impact of the following diet on individuals; it could help the individuals set up the right diet, which will have fewer of the following components. Furthermore, the paper will describe the impact that obesity will have on individuals' overall health. This process would help reduce obesity among individuals by creating awareness about the negative impact that obesity has been causing in their life.
