 Propose a detailed plan based on your chosen change theory explaining how to implement change.
 Develop criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and include a timeline for your change proposal.
 Finally, reflect on how your change affects the nursing profession.

The call light system is a vital technology that serves as a communication link between healthcare providers and patients in need of assistance, making it an indispensable resource for patient-focused healthcare. The technology allows hospital clerks to receive automated patient calls in the nurses’ station, reducing unnecessary nurse interruptions (Ali & Li, 2020). Such innovation improves efficiency in healthcare delivery. Although call light use positively impacts the delivery of nursing care, there are significant gaps that cause slow response to light calls. Delays in call light response are significant patient safety, quality, and satisfaction concerns (Galinato et al., 2015). This study examines the problem of longer light call responses and designs an innovative change needed to improve call light response time.
Problem
In an inpatient hospital, patients are sometimes in pain, uncomfortable, and unable to perform simple tasks like changing positions or using bathrooms without a caregiver’s help. Others may need pain medication, normal assistance, or emergency services. Regardless of the nature of the call, hospital ethics require nurses to respond to them immediately. Recently, patients have raised concerns about delays in call light response and nurse unresponsiveness. Patients have raised concerns about long wait times to get their calls answered and inconsistencies in the response time (Galinato et al., 2015).
