Obtain turnover rates before and after initiating change. Compare patient discharge surveys before change and after initiation of change. Variables: Staff attitudes and perceptions. Patient attitudes and perceptions. Rate of nursing staff turnover. Develop the tools necessary to educate project participants and to evaluate project outcomes (surveys, questionnaires, teaching materials, PowerPoint slides, etc.). Course title:
Developing an Evaluation Plan
The various methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed solution are discussed in an in-depth manner. The variables to be assessed when evaluating outcomes of the project are also comprehensively discussed in this paper. In essence, what is being proposed in this project is physical activity and exercising in adults with hypertension in order to reduce blood pressure in this population. During the evaluation process, the target population that would be involved is nursing staff, as well as adults with hypertension (HTN). The intervention that will be evaluated is people with hypertension doing exercises and engaging in physical activity so as to reduce blood pressure. The outcomes are essentially reduced risk of getting cardiovascular disease and stroke, improved quality of life of the patients with HTN, as well as increased satisfaction of nursing personnel and patients.
Methods
The blood pressure of hypertensive patients will be measured before and after initiating the change. Blood pressure of each of the participants will be taken and it will be the average of 2 readings which would be taken at two visits after the initial screening for adults. HTN is commonly defined as HBP readings which are above, or at 140 mm Hg for the upper number or at least 90 for the number at the bottom (Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), 2014). In assessing blood pressure of the patients before the change is initiated, the following would be the descriptions of hypertension at various stages: (i) Pre-HTN: diastolic blood pressure is 80 mm Hg – 99 mm Hg; systolic blood pressure is 120 mm Hg –139 mm Hg. (ii) Stage 1: diastolic blood pressure is 90 mm Hg – 99 mm Hg; systolic blood pressure is 140 mm Hg – 159 mm Hg. (iii) Stage 2: diastolic blood pressure is more than or equal to 100 mm Hg; systolic blood pressure is mor...
