Access to Insurance versus To Care
Introduction
In general, there are certain costs that, at one point, one needs to incur for healthcare, for example, the cost of treatment of diseases. However, what is never clear is the unknown future concerning how much such costs will be. People just know they will incur them, and have a good estimate of what they can be (Brodie et al., 2010). Medical expenses can be financed in several ways, the primary ones being the use of insurance cover and money from the pocket. In the U.S, access to insurance greatly determines an individual’s access to care. A majority of those with access to insurance have easy access to care, which has raised much concerned in the country. For a deeper under understanding of the issue, this paper elaborates the difference between access to insurance versus to care, pinpointing the various elements of the two, and how they relate to each other.
How Access to Insurance Differs From Access to Care

In American 8 in 10 people are still uninsured with a misconception that uninsured are unemployed (Brodie et al., 2010).

She uses strong medication for arthritis and the main worry is if her condition gets worse, she will be forced to dig into her pocket or seek help to stay healthy since insurance coverage has certain limits. This case is an example that despite having an insurance cover is not a guarantee of medical care.
How the Federal Health Reform Legislation of 2010 Addresses Access To Insurance
The legislation plans to reduce the growing premium and other costs citizens and business pay for healthcare by developing exchanges designed to provide a competitive marketplace for purchasing health insurance (Riegelman, 2010).
The insurance package is designed to keep the costs of health care including premiums, cost sharing, and deductibles under 10 percent of an individual or family annual income especially for those with income above 133pecent (Riegelman, 2010).
The plan aims at making health coverage affordable by standardizing forms and limiting the amount of money insurance companies spend on administrative costs and profit to 15 percent. The legislation provided portability of coverage meaning that citizens can retain health ...
