These variables are discussed below: Independent Variables: Standardized tests (Reading, Language, math, science, social studies) Dependent variables: Social Skills, high school GPA, SAT score, ACT score, Freshman GPA score Study Hypotheses H0: There exists no SAT score disparity between home schooled and public schooled students. H0: There is no high school GPA disparity between home schooled and public schooled students. H0: There exists no ACT score disparity between homeschooled and public schooled students. H0: There exists no Freshman GPA score disparity between students who schooled at home and their public schooled counterparts. H0: There is no social skills disparity between home schooled and public schooled students. Data analysis Techniques for the proposed study and justification During data analysis, descriptive statistics will be used, namely the mean and standard deviation (Analysis, 2013). Mean scores will be used to compare the average scores for either home schooled or traditionally schooled to the national mean score. Comparing the means will be invaluable in determining how each model performs against the national benchmark. Still, the correlation between each group’s high school GPA and College Freshman GPA will be critical in determining the retention distinction between home schooled and public schooled students. Regression will be used to compare the mean scores for each schooling model to the national mean score. The standard deviation will be used to augment regression analysis while hypotheses testing will be essential in the analysis of the study findings (Analysis, 2013).
