Resiliency and Spirituality: What is the Connection?
Everyone undergoes some kind of obstacle in their life, wherein they are challenged to be better and do better. Resilience and spirituality offer concepts that help humans to understand and undergo their problems so that they may emerge stronger and wiser. Resilience and spirituality are not separate, but rather, they have a relationship with each other. In this article, the concepts will be defined and related.
Our society is designed in such a way that most people are subjected to much stress. Human systems demand material and consumerist productivity, causing their members to experience various problems such as sleep deprivation, fatigue, tiredness, and depression. All humans are susceptible to experiencing some kind of stress or event that makes them feel bad about their lives. From these concepts, people are able to learn how to navigate their world, especially in times of crisis. Resilience is the power to overcome struggles, and Spirituality provides a larger point of view that lets individuals understand their place in the universe.
Challenges are largely defined by human culture. Various people from different cultures undergo different kinds of stress. The cultural dynamics of an individual and a society are dependent on their general philosophy, individual outlook, and lifestyle(Krøvel, 2014). The Code of Ethics offers the concept that people are responsible for improving the state of goodness. From this guiding document, people should always remember that their actions affect others and that others' actions affect them, too. In this regard, Spirituality offers the concept of how we are all interconnected with each other. Spirituality offers us a...
