Introduction
The article “Sex and Salary” by Matthew Morris and Paul Larson focuses on a significant topic of how gender differences affect salaries of managers in the supply chain department. The literature review uses credible sources to show some of the issues that women in supply chain management encounter. Some of the problems stated are sexual harassment, discrimination, and pay inequalities (Larson & Morris, 2014). The study’s primary objective is to show how organization size and managers gender affect their salaries.
Methods
Researchers used a standard method of regression analysis after conducting a survey of managers in the supply chain departments in Canada. The regression model involved four quantitative variables, annual salary, and binary variables (Larson & Morris, 2014). Indeed, Larson and Morris give sufficient details about the statistical analysis. The methods used were appropriate to meet the objectives of the study, and there was no control experiment.
Results
Larson and Morris use tables to represent the statistical results obtained. For instance, they show employees’ salaries based on the size of an organization. Moreover, researchers use a bar graph to portray the gender pay gap in some developed countries. The results obtained are not misleading, and they make sense. The authors perform appropriate statistical analysis to prove seven hypotheses.
