Motorolla was an American multinational telecommunication company with its headquarters in Illinois, USA. Having lost over $ 4.3 billion from the year 2007 to the year 2009, the management dissolved to divide the company into two independent companies called the Motorola Mobility and the Motorola Solutions in the year 2011 (Ante, 2011).
Mission and Vision
Their mission is to become a global communications leader powered by a passion to invent and an unceasing commitment to advance the way the world connects. There communication solutions allow people, businesses and governments to be more connected and more mobile. This indicates clearly that its core purpose is to invent and an unceasing the world’s connection and another aspect that we get from the mission they take themselves as global leaders hence undermining or hiding the competition they are facing.
The Motorola’s vision states that there history is rich, there future is dynamic, they are Motorola and the spirit of invention is what drives them (Kepos, 1995). Thereby it is evident that they are proud of their history, the reality is that history is gone and now they are facing challenging times.
It is evident that Motorola’ vision and mission are meant to capture the present competition they are facing (Pande, 2000). Hence as struggling company they have to fight a good fight to be where they were.
