Emotional Intelligence and Motivation
Relationship management is a vital component of emotional intelligence. It includes skills that are necessary to develop good connections in workplace. Employing skills such as compassion, efficient communication, conflict resolution, and rapport-building is essential. When leaders demonstrate empathy, and express care, they create an environment that fosters psychological safety where people feel comfortable opening up. This results to increased levels of employee engagement and job satisfaction. Also, open, and transparent communication is necessary. Transparency, trust, and effective group work are achieved through the competence of managers to communicate their expectations clearly and to listen actively to the team members’ views. In addition, advanced conflict resolution skills are necessary in dealing with disagreeing parties in a productive way. Moreover, establishing rapport involves spending time with employees, to know them personally, appreciate their innate strengths and motivational drivers, along with their career goals. This interpersonal relationship creates a feeling of community, which increases on employees’ satisfaction with their job (Görgens-Ekermans & Roux, 2021). In general, when managers give special attention to the development of relationship management skills, they ensure that employees are treated with respect, valued, and encouraged to become the best.

When managers drive them to make decisions and spread their creativity in doing their job, employees end up taking ownership of their work and a sense of personal responsibility. Moreover, competence is aimed at the need to feel qualified and perform the assigned roles successfully. Some of the ways through which managers can promote competence include provision of training, mentorship, and constructive feedback that facilitate skill development. The acknowledgement and appreciation of employees’ successes also encourages the sense of competence and achievement that lead to greater levels of intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. The concept of relatedness also highlights the significance of work-related relationships and people who have a sense of membership in the organization (Good et al., 2022). Managers can create relatedness by helping the team to grow a friendly, cooperative, and supportive team environment.
The utilization of SDT principles harmoniously coincides with the capacities of EI based on relationship management. Managing relationships effectively requires an understanding and addressing of individual needs, establishing trust and rapport, and providing a conducive working environment. When implemented together, the SDT principles and the EI competencies can serve as an environment that encourages autonomy, competence, and relatedness which results in excessive performance, job satisfaction, and motivation.
Moreover, the strategies can be adopted to effectively and to implement the (SDT) approach and to use relationship management skills in fostering employee motivation, satisfaction, and productivity in a company. First, autonomy implies some control over the tasks and decision-making processes by the employees. This freedom of choice allows employees to become involved in their own jobs and assume an aspect of ownership in which they are directly responsible and accountable for the assigned tasks. This is possible through task delega...
