At the end of this course, you will have created a marketing plan for a hypothetical product-based company. Each assignment focuses on a different section of the overall marketing plan. For Assignment 1, you will compile information on the company's background information, an environmental analysis, your company's short and long-term goals, and a SWOT analysis.

1.Write an introduction to your company. Describe your company, its location, and the product it makes or the service it provides.
2.Develop an environmental analysis that includes competitive, economic, political, legal, technological, and sociocultural forces.
3.Determine the primary and secondary target markets for your company. Next, analyze the primary and secondary target markets that you identified for your company. Be sure to cover the 4Ps, 5Cs and STP.
4.Decide the main goals that you would like to achieve within the next year (short term) and the mains goals that you would like to achieve within the next five (5) years (long term). Determine the most appropriate ways to measure both short- and long-term goals. Note: Consider the following metrics: tracking downloads of Website content, Website visitors, increases in market share, customer value, new product adoption rates, retention, rate of growth compared to competition and the market, margin, and customer engagement.
5.Develop both a SWOT analysis and needs analysis for your product. Each analysis should examine four (4) strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for your company.
6.Use at least four (4) academic resources as quantitative marketing research to determine the feasibility of your product / service. These resources should be industry specific and relate to your chosen product / service. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
•Analyze the marketing framework including the concepts of the 5Cs, STP, and 4Ps.
•Develop strategies to assess performance and achieve marketing goals.
•Examine the marketing science of customer behavior and products in the marketing exchange process and create dynamic strategies for competing.
•Evaluate target customer segments and positioning products within these segments.
•Use technology and information resources to research issues in marketing management.
•Write clearly and concisely about marketing management using proper writing mechanics.

The marketing plan focuses on a newly opened clothes store in Houston. The idea to set up the business at Houston came after discovering that it is among the fast-growing states in America (Anderson, 2012). Additionally, the banks are shifting their focus to those fast-growing countries, and it is, therefore, becoming easier to access loans and start up a business. Unlike many clothing stores that only offer clothes for women and children, the company will also provide fashionable clothes for men and the plus size women.
For a long time, men’s fashion has not been given much attention yet the men of this day and age are not limited to the old way of dressing that was worn by their forefathers. The plus size women, on the other hand, have been going to various clothing stores and are unable to get the clothes for their size. The clothes store in Houston will not only ensure that the plus size women get clothes, but they will ensure they are available in different colors and designs to suit the needs of each customer. The company’s designers will travel far and wide in all parts of the globe to look for the emerging fashion and ensure that they are part of what is sold in their store. The fashion industry is an extremely tricky sector to get into as it is taken by some of the wealthiest organizations and persons in the world. Anyone looking forward to be successful in the industry should be willing to conduct their business in a different way from what others do.
Pestle Analysis
The Pest analysis mainly focuses on the environment at which the business is taking place. Houston is one place where they enjoy political stability and therefore appropriate for business. The place is also technologically advanced to cater for the technological needs of the business. The legal procedures of doing business are not very strict therefore favoring most businesses. The social-cultural environment is also favorable for doing business in Houston.
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
One of the advantages of setting up the business in Houston is the fact that it is one of the fast-growing states in the US. Fast growing means that the place has a high population who are likely to be the potential customers of the clothing store (Funk, 2012). The fact the company will also target the men and size women is an added advantage as most of the clothes businesses have neglected those sectors. The third strength of the company is the fact that they will be offering high-quality, fashionable clothes at the lowest possible prices.
Weaknesses
There is a great need to improve the way the company markets its products. The company can set up a website where the customers can be able to view the clothes that are available for sale and even order for them online.
