Our business will be starting an Etsy shop that features handwritten stationery for weddings, babies and holidays.

 You are going to do 2 types of research: qualitative and quantitative and use that information to determine how you will do your first marketing campaign for the project.

 The qualitative research will take the form of a focus group and the quantitative research will take the form of an online survey.

 Your research can cover a company that you work for or a hypothetical company of your own. You may use friends, relatives, and/or business associates for your focus group and survey, but you must use different people for each research project.  The business can be for profit or non-profit.

Etsy marketing can be said to be the new normal. There is an increasing number of people who prefer to go the Etsy way when it comes to online marketing. When we think of Etsy, what comes to mind is original, unique, vintage, and handmade and such other adjectives that seek to set aside the items available of such commercial sites. It is unlikely to find items that are factory manufactured on Etsy. The idea here is to promote as much talent and skill done right from scratch to the end purely by hand. When the idea was fist pitched, it did not receive as much acceptance. This is because the market was used to manufactured items which were often perceived to be more superior. With the dynamism in the market and the demand for uniqueness increasing, Etsy platforms have now received greater acceptance. As such, coming up with an Etsy platform to market handwritten stationery for babies, weddings and even holidays is certainly a timely move. It resonates well with the needs on the market as more people such for designs that are not replicated the world over.
Business Landscape
The scope of the business will be weddings, babies and holidays. The goal and mission for the business is to provide unique items that fall within the aforementioned categories while offering wide range of the same. The goal herein is to have a platform where people with varying needs can log and get to select as many crafted items as possible. The mission of the business is to be a one stop shop for anything handmade and get to sample works of various artists from different parts of the world. Handmade, vintage items are very much sought after. However, they are often to easily found unless one is widely travelled. With the Etsy platform any person will now have an opportunity to look at the different items available online.
Despite the idea being very timely and resonating with the needs in the market competition is bound to be a challenge. The main reason is that this is not the first Etsy shop to be established. There are hundreds of others that are already well established. The advantage in this case will be that this has a family feel. Weddings, babies, holidays; that is pretty much what families do. This shop is unique from all others in that most Etsy shops will offer almost everything and hence bombarding the customers. In this case, however, there is an element of specialization and customers can log in to specifically search for certain items.
Goal of Developing Market Campaign
The goal of developing this market campaign is to get people to familiarize themselves with the idea of an Etsy shop. Although it is not very new an idea, people have yet to fully embrace and appreciate the convenience that comes with it. Further, for those who are aware of the existence of the idea, they are perhaps skeptical. The idea floated herein is unique in the sense that it focuses on specific areas which are weddings, babies and holiday.
