Many people have been in situations in which they find it difficult to communicate. Improving your written communication skills and being comfortable speaking to people are extremely important to help prevent these difficulties. Locate a formative, evaluative, or diagnostic assessment or test that evaluates your communication abilities. Additional acceptable types of assessments are defined in the What Are the Different Types of Business Environment? (Links to an external site.) blog post. Develop a two to three-page APA-formatted paper in which you analyze your personal communication skills via an assessment.

Be sure to address the following in your paper:
Describe the assessment you used to analyze your skills.
Include the name of the assessment and where you retrieved it.
Discuss your communication gaps.
Describe any additional training you need in specific areas of communication.
Analyze how you can improve your current communication skills to prepare you for advancement in your profession.
NOTE: An actual assessment must be utilized. A personal inventory is not eligible criteria for this assignment.

Introduction
Communication is essential for any individual, business, or organization to operate. However, it is paramount that information exchange is effective and structured in the proper context and delivery to suit the task at hand. Both spoken and written communication are implemented daily, and they play a significant role in any field's operational success. Every organization relies on its communication networks to run the business. Ensuring the appropriate people receive the correct information at the right time is essential to a business's success.
Assessment Test
There are several ways to evaluate a person's communication abilities. This essay utilizes the Mindtools communication skills test, which assesses how well one communicates (Sarah, 1969). Generally, the mentioned test is a questionnaire that examines a person's ability to communicate. In addition, it assesses how information is driven from the sender to the receiver. It has queries consisting of both verbal and nonverbal forms of communication.
This examination has questions about an individual's reaction and how they are likely to respond in a particular situation. Communicating effectively at work is essential for a person's success in conveying a message and advancing their career. Most management roles require the capability to deal with rising issues such as disagreements among colleagues, team members, and clients. This should be done orderly to increase efficiency and avoid snags that might harm the business or cause a communication breakdown.
Communication Gaps
The communication gap is defined as information misunderstanding, misinterpretation, or a lack of communication within a business. Inter-employee information sharing is essential for company productivity and efficiency. Therefore, employee communication gaps are likely to jeopardize an organization's growth. Such a problem should be resolved cautiously and thoughtfully.
I participated in the test on the Mindpool platform and scored 53 points out of a possible 80, which is above average. The results show that I am an able and effective communicator, but I sometimes fall short of some critical practices. Out of the five categories comprising planning message, encoding, choosing the right channel, decoding or listening, and getting feedback, four are above average. However, the test indicates that I have an issue listening to the other person. The results of planning the message surpassed my expectations because I thought my biggest weakness in communication lay in this area. This test also highlights the importance of considering cultural aspects and the feelings and consequences one might invoke on the other person.
