This paper is about some decisions taken by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and their impact on the cash flows of the company. Due to the nature of its business, Wal-Mart takes financial decisions on a frequent basis. These decisions include; establishment of new stores in different cities, establishment of new stores internationally, and increase in annual dividend.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is a public corporation that runs a chain of warehouse stores and discount department stores. It was the world’s largest public corporation by revenue in 2010, in accordance with Forbes Global 2000. The total revenue of Wal-Mart in 2010 was $408.21 billion which is a very significant amount. Such high revenue of Wal-Mart is due to continuous expansion of the scope of the business of Wal-Mart. It has been establishing new stores in different cities, towns and in different countries as well. Along with new stores, Wal-Mart has been introducing different features in its business in order to cater the requirement of the consumers.
Net Income of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. for the year 2010, 2009 and 2008 was ($000) $14,335,000, $13,400,000 and $12,731,000, and respectively; total revenue for the same years were $408,214,000, $404,374,000 and $378,799,000.
Wal-Mart has been quite active in accordance with its cash flows.
