IV. Ethical and Legal Considerations
The 2007-2008 global financial crisis was a significant economic crisis within the 21st century, ever witnessed after the Great Depression, which was also impactful. Amazon was among the multinational companies affected by this trend, and it had to adopt ethical or legal management practices to survive (Reddy et al., 2014). Ethical or legal guidelines affect a firm’s financial performance and decisions. These considerations are useful in allowing the specific firm to assign financial resources appropriately and aim to realize significant profits amid the 2007-2008 financial crisis that interrupted most companies’ performance worldwide. For example, Amazon Corporation employed regulatory considerations during the major global crisis to easily execute economic decisions that promote its efficiency within the marketplace in many parts of the planet.
           Shareholders, employees, directors, and other staff are part of a multinational’s internal stakeholders (Donici et al., 2012). Amazon’s ethical and legal decisions affect these stakeholders, including their productivity within the company. Amazon Corporation maximizes its value while sustaining ethical and legal actions. For example, the company’s response to the stakeholders’ interests through the adoption of appropriate policies and frameworks increases the internal stakeholders’ productivity and effectiveness significantly because it creates an enabling environment for them to contribute positively to the organization. Another example is that Amazon contributes to job creation, which improves the livelihood of most of its stakeholders.
           Amazon engages in corporate social responsibility activities that address and meet the interests of external stakeholders like the environment, society, and even the government. External stakeholders are crucial since they impact the consumer’s viewpoint about the firm’s commodities. Therefore, Amazon should have a positive influence on these stakeholders through different programs.
