In chapter 2 Twentieth Century Design by Jonathan M. Woodham, modernism was majorly astute by the youthful faction of the population alongside the specifications by the Council of Industrial Design. The gulf between the two factions was majorly perpetrated by the cultural affiliations considering the pop culture that was evident during the rise of modernism in architecture. This would broaden their view in incorporating the acquired concepts in their subsequent designs. Vivienne Westwood, a fashion designer, provided an optimized method for designers effortlessly to navigate the vast range of the stylistic vocabularies in a shorter period. The creativity of the avante-garde provided the baseline for the industrialized capitalism. It was labelled the ‘Italian Style’ as the basis for Italian designs manifested the cultural artefacts, furniture and the early architectural designs of the Milan. It was a manifestation of the manufacturer’s response to the popular needs by the population unlike the exploration of the possibilities of the different designs available.
