Children are indeed at the mercy of their parents and one’s development is widely dependent on the kind of parent(s) one has. The article under review How Parental Substance Use Disorders Affect Children, is quite deep and explicit in its description of how children are vulnerable creatures. However, the sad bit here is that the people responsible for endangering the lives of children are the same ones who are supposed to show them love and affection. Substance use is indeed one of the major issues plaguing the society. The focus here is not on any one who uses drugs but specifically on the parents who use drugs before and after the birth of a child.
