1) Think of an individual you know who you perceive as a strong, effective leader. Provide a brief one paragraph introduction of this person. Include a description of who they are, where they work and what position/role they hold, how you know them and in what context you have had interactions with them. His name is Jonathan, he work at health care center in retirement community and I had been working with his as nursing assistant.He is effective leader.
2) Follow up by evaluating the following about this individual:
• What type of leadership style this individual exhibits. Give examples and back up your statement with cited theory from class and readings.
• Your personal perspective on at least two or three of his/her strengths and areas for growth (For example, comment on communication, conflict management, ability to impact change, and/or emotional intelligence, etc.). Incorporate an example of how you have seen this person exhibit at least two of the attributes you have discussed about them.
3) Interpret what you have learned about leadership in general from this individual and explain what is consistent with course content in this class.

One of the influential leaders that I know is Jonathan. He works at the healthcare centre in a retirement community, where he and I met. Both of us were nursing assistants, but he was the head of the team. He is a decisive leader, to whom we can consult issues in the institution and to whom we can tell our concerns regarding our work. He is just and thinks straight without any bias. Our interactions are both professional and friendly because we developed trust in each other due to our similarities and work ethics.

Jonathan exhibits the strategic leadership style, where he mediates between the primary operations in the institution and the demands of the nurses. A strategic leadership style balances between the positive and negative aspects in a workplace to allow for growth opportunities in both sides. Strategic leaders tend to be at the grey line between the intersection of white and black. Therefore, this type of leadership is useful. The downside of this type of leadership is the high numbers of people that the leader must support and these people are from various agencies or perspectives (Wijayati et al., 2018).
As a leader, many nurses confided their perspectives and concerns to Jonathan when the administration decided to reduce their number of nurses due to the increasing expenses of the community. Based on the administration’s assessment, those who left will be able to handle the workload. However, we, as nurses, had a tremendous increase in workload that led to an increase in the number of other nurses who resigned. As a result, the tremendous workload made the nurses work less efficiently.
Jonathan summarized the concerns of both parties and presented it to the administrators. He also suggested some solutions, such as how to reduce the expenses of the retirement community and the administrators followed his advice. After a month, the situation was overturned, and the workload for each nurse decreased.
