After undergoing surgery, many older people are prone to experience numerous complications. The postoperative risks are usually higher and are related to poor surgical outcomes among the aged. It has been highlighted that comorbidity and mortality rates of aged people increase after they undergo surgery. The process of preventing the complication ensures that patients can cope with the aftermath of the surgery with minimal to zero complications. At the primary level, there is a need for nurses and healthcare professionals to do their best to prevent any injuries or complications from the surgery. In the secondary, early treatment must be given whenever the patient develops complications early. The goals are to minimize any severe problems from the known complication. At the tertiary level, there are severe complications associated with the surgery. In this regard, the nurses and other healthcare workers must develop rehabilitation measures to help older people cope with the condition.
