Ideology relates to the set of practices, beliefs rituals and social practices that represent the structure of knowledge with complex meaning. For the education stakeholders especially educators and students, beliefs and ideas influence education and learning approaches including standardized curriculums, or those adapted to different settings. Greene (2017) argued that people reconstruct what they learn to better understand the text and learn beyond what they are used to. Student-led approaches to learning and teacher-evaluation are closely linked to best practices, and education reforms need to go beyond test scores to improve education outcomes. The social, political, economic, and cultural factors shape education policies and curriculum content.
When people are more conscious about their construction, they are more likely to question and engage more with others as there is freedom to choose. Teachers examine their ideas and beliefs without imposing this on students and being effective ether students also influence the curriculum. Participants in the curricula can either let many stakeholders be actively involved or limit interaction, and in this case the curriculum mainly reflects the values and beliefs of one section of the society and is closely linked to the dominant curriculum ideology. The dominant beliefs and values are reflected in education and the school influences the transmission of ideological norms and confers cultural legitimacy.
