Rationale:  The formal business letter is still an active channel of communication  The skills of properly preparing and physically mailing a formal business letter are assumed  The information conveyed in a formal business letter tends to be of high importance, thus outranking its younger relatives (the email and the memo)  The signed letter constitutes a binding and permanent record of the correspondence Assignment Specs: 1. Written component: a. 1-page maximum, properly formatted business style letter (block paragraphs), to include legible, cursive, hand-written signature b. Properly addressed and stamped business envelope for physically mailing c. Complete process reflection 3. Digital component: a. For full credit on this mini-project, you must visually document the physical mailing of your letter through a U.S. Postal Service mail box (note: a USPS mailbox – not a private carrier service – is required) i. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS LIVING ABROAD: your letter may be mailed to a recipient in your home country using your nation’s postal service. b. Your media file (video, photo gallery), along with a digital version of the letter itself, must be posted to your Business Letter project file 3 Submission and scoring:  Students are to inform Professor Emerson by email when all components (letter, envelope, documentation of mailing) are complete and in your UB Box Master File  NOTE: I will no longer accept stand-alone documents as valid project submissions!  Holistic grading for this project will reflect: 1. Effective use of the genre to achieve a specific rhetorical purpose (content, mechanics) 2. Successful completion of all parts of the project

The issue of insecurity is affecting the lives of students in all aspects. Upon close observation, you will notice that a lot has changed because of the tense atmosphere that hinders productivity. The only way to solve this issue is if more security guards and better security equipment are hired and bought. I hope you consider my request to...
