The monologue character in ‘It’s Terrible being Nice’ is a lady whose boyfriend has just proposed. He wants to marry the girl, but she has given more than one reason why she has to decline the offer. According to her, she enjoys being a ‘bitch,’ and she thinks love and marriage will change that. She feels her personality is at risk and feels that if she says no to the marriage proposal, she will regain her original lifestyle, her attitude and she will not have to pretend to like people or be nice to people anymore.
