The lack of food in the United States can be linked to the Malthusian theory. In modern times, the debate includes a discussion on the potential impact of prices that aid in technological change. In this manner, the society becomes ready to adapt to a variety of events such as climate change or lack of food. According to scholars in the United States, there is a likelihood of a constant increase in the prices of agricultural products. Lack of food could also be accelerated by the lack of specific scientific research as dictated by market demands. The government and the people have a responsibility to fill the deficit in terms of inadequate foot supplies; the government may endeavor in research and development projects with regards to selected crops and other food sources. Similarly, the people can grow their own foods in gardens or even on a large farm, which would collectively turn out to be significant.

Citizens of both urbanization and suburbanization experience several challenges in their day-to-day lives. Among them include housing and crime. The industrial age of human history came with challenges of obtaining houses in the urban areas. The working-class have few options that would help them secure good housing. Most people have to buy houses at high prices in the outskirts of various cities in the United States. Those who cannot afford to buy homes are left with the option of renting rooms.
