Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

ACME Brickworks of Okmulgee is expanding their operations by opening a new office in the Oklahoma City market.  Currently, they have their headquarters in Okmulgee and a single branch sales office in Tulsa.   You have been hired by the CISO and you will be the only other person in the department.  The CISO provides you the information below and expects you to integrate the Oklahoma City office into their network and wants you to submit the complete process and steps you will take to complete this project beforehand for review as your Phase Two project.

This is all you were provided by the CISO.

  1. Each branch office handles authentication locally through Read Only Doman Controller (RODC)
  2. HQ handles all company processes, including sales, centralized inventory warehousing and management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and Human Resources.
  3. Tulsa has access to the customer databases
  4. Tulsa has access to centralized inventory database
  5. HQ needs to access to all office
  6. Branches must see the inventory database

  • Existing Network information:
  • Number of employees at HQ:  90
  • Number of employees at Tulsa: 50
  • Number of computers: 140
  • Number of networked devices: 95
  • Network: 10.120.100.0/24
  • Subnet: 255.255.255.0
  • Gateway: 10.120.100.254

Phase One Outline
The following provides a step-by-step process for the Phase One of the project:
1 Design the network topology: This will involve deciding how the network will be structured and what devices will be required. A star topology would be appropriate, with the headquarters as the central node, and the Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices as remote nodes. This would require a router and a switch at each remote office, and a firewall at the headquarters.
2 Determine IP address allocation: The existing network is on the 10.120.100.0/24 subnet, and it is important to ensure that there is no overlap in IP addresses between the existing network and the new Oklahoma City office. A new subnet, such as 10.120.101.0/24, could be allocated for this purpose.
3 Configure the new RODC: The new Oklahoma City office will require a Read Only Domain Controller (RODC) to handle local authentication. This should be set up and configured to replicate data from the HQ's Active Directory.
4 Configure the router and ...
