Re: Concern over increased bullying incidents at the workplace.
I am highly compelled to express my personal concern about bullying cases that have increased in the recent past in our workplace. While talking to my colleagues I have noted that most of the them are equally concerned and have been victims of bullying from their line managers and this has affected their productivity and motivation greatly.
Currently, our company does not provide an appropriate and confidential platform to report such cases and most of the victims who have shared their experiences felt that they could have reported the incidents but they expressed fear and privacy concerns regarding their confidentiality in the matter. Some of the bullying actions employees are suffering include removal of areas assigned responsibilities without a cause, constant and persistent criticism which is unwarranted, intimidation, undermining of employees work, and withholding of important information from the line managers intentionally to the employees.
The above actions have been observed for the last four months and have continued to impact in our organization as evidenced by the targets through reactions such as shock, feelings of frustration, fear, heightened sense of vulnerability, anxiety, low concentration and morale in the workplace, and increased stress level.
