For this project you will analyze an ad sociologically. First, you will find an ad that has a sociological message in it(many of them do). Ads can come in many forms. For example, billboards, ads from magazines and newspapers, and on-line ads would work for this project. More specifically, you will describe how this ad relates to sociology. The closer you tie the ad to sociology, the stronger your analysis. Be sure that you do not analyze this ad from a marketing viewpoint, but from a sociological perspective. You will also need to bring in information from two outside scholarly/peer-reviewed sociological resources to bolster your discussion of the ad you chose. By outside, I mean sources outside of the course. Therefore, the course textbook would not qualify. In other words, you need to use information that you find in two scholarly/peer-reviewed sociological sources in your paper. By sociological, I mean that the sources must have been written by a sociologist. This project allows for great creativity.
Writing structure:
Your writing should consist of an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. In the introduction you will tell the reader exactly what you plan to do in the paper. A description of your ad would also be helpful in order to frame the paper. Your body will be centered on the two (or more) concepts that you chose to use to analyze the ad. You should discuss specific aspects of the ad using sociological ideas. Be sure to define any terms that a non-sociology student may not know. The conclusion should sum up and synthesize (or pull together) your main points.

Family Dynamics
The Angel Soft Toilet Paper Ad is an Ad where the dad raises the daughter as a single parent and speaks to irregular families who make it in life without the normal family set up. The Ad talks about a father who raises his only daughter even with hardships along the way. It shows the relationship or bond between the two through hardships with some help from Angel Soft toilet paper. At some point in the Ad, we are shown the man having to explain why he is in women's toilet run and another scene shows the man trying to calm his daughter after she experiences her first menses. The father is also seen comforting her when she comes home crying presumably from a date gone bad because she says that men are the worst.
Sociology looks into the aspect of education in communities. This part deals with how educational systems shape social structures. In the Ad by Angel's soft toilet papers, there is an educational moment because it shows that the dad has trained his daughter to wash her hands after visiting the toilet. Another part where we are shown father-daughter educational moments is when he teaches his daughter how to shave her legs. This shows evidence of sociology in the ad as the daughter has obviously undergone various educational times with her father just like normal families. Divorce affects children adversely education wise, for instance children tend to have detest in learning with low grades, absence in class, low participation and behavioral change(Christi and David, 14). The ad does not show any of these signs for girl.
Education systems play significant roles in our social structures because it is classified second after family. These systems also teach us about what culture expects from us and this is toughened by books, classmates and teachers (Durkheim, 10). These include topics such, parliamentary processes of our country, history of our country, rules of playing with others in the playground and learning when and how to speak for instance children are taught to remain silent while adults are talking and to talk only when told to do with an obedient tone. Schools are also tools of change as they teach students new ways of becoming independent and obedience by teaching them to think out of the norms taught by their cultures but at the same time reminding them of their place in the society (Rolf, 12).
The organization of social structures is an embedded aspect of sociology. Social organization refers to how people relate between and among themselves. It can be put as the basic fabric of the society and as it allows participation or affects others significantly. Angel Soft toilet paper ad represents a family institution of two individual a father and his daughter. Gender roles are portrayed differently in the ad because in normal families the mother takes the female gender roles but in the ad, the girl's father is the mother. This is shown by the way he teaches her to handle her first menstruation and even how he teaches her to shave her legs. In most social settings these are women roles.
The role of a father in his child’s life is very huge and has great impacts. Fathers have to make their children have a sense of security both emotionally and physically. ...
