L.A. Metro Transit System
Los Angeles public transport is easy and adequate travel any distance or across the city lines. The LA metro offers significant travel services ranging from rail to road and this make it easy to connect with other major transport systems. The metro rail is a rapid rail system which consists of six separate lines in the LA County. The rail systems connect to metro bus rapid transport and commuter metro rail.
The different rail lines are defined by the route and the set of stations which are served by the route. These routes are distinguished by use of colors which have been used to distinguish these lines on the metro maps. Moreover, the metro service also uses color to distinguish its metro liner services which operate in transit ways. The metro red line connects the central LA with north Hollywood as it passes through other neighborhoods in Hollywood (Sesser, 2009). The metro purple runs from central LA to Korea town and mid-Wilshire. The blue line runs between the financial district and central LA and long beach serving other neighborhoods in the central region of the county. The metro green line serves the Redondo Beach and Norwalk add other neighborhoods in between. The gold line serves between eastern LA through central LA to Pasadena.
The metro website has been designed in a friendly manner as commuters are able to study the transits system to use because they are denoted by color on the metro map and the transport carriage. Information is entered in the metro trip planner which gives internally on the line to take, the station to catch it and where to exit and the cost of the service offered (Sesser, 2009). The transport lines on the map are denoted by color which shows the route served by a transits system with the color denoted on the map. Visitors to the city will have to travel all over the city using the metro transport system because their website indicates the by color the train to use and the route served by that particular line. The lines are well connected with each other and other transit systems wit h an accurate schedule without unnecessary delays.
The Los Angeles metro transit system works well such that some commuters have ended up not using their cars to travel. Using the subway system enables the perception of LA in different angle as new places are seen which is impossible to see when driving. The fare that is charged using this transport system is significantly low compared to driving. The money spent on metro transit system can not be compared with the fuel used driving around the city, the parking fees, in addition to time wasted in traffic jams (Sesser, 2009). Using metro services also reduces pollution as many cars are not in use which emits carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. The metro system is used by all members of the society regardless of race ethnicity or disability.
