The History of Labor
Paragraph 1: introduction
The Independent Union of All Workers was one of the successful labor unions formed in the early 1930s. The American labor movement had suffered a lot of losses following the impact of World War 1. Among the challenges that faced the formation of the movement were the political and economic power in a state of the high unemployment rate, the competition for jobs and the ethnic and gender divisions.
Paragraph 2: The political and economic power of high unemployment rates
Individuals faced a dominant anti-union employer, and this could mean that the rights of the employees would be oppressed. High rates of unemployment marked the great depression, and therefore, it is incredible how labors were able to go on the contrary to expectations and build a labor union.
