Case Study Reflection
For the CEO, CFO, Human Resources Manager, VP of Technical Operations, and Legal Council
Finding common ground proved to be quite difficult, mainly because everyone desired a different outcome. One thing I noticed was that everyone had their solutions or suggestions, which they believed were the best to help get the organization back to profitability. This meant that, often, people would argue not to get to the most desired solution but in defense of their suggestions. The above went on for a moment until the CEO called the meeting to order and asked the members to start being objective in their objections. Before her intervention, people were mainly pointing fingers and blaming each other for the company’s dipping results.
However, in spite of the in-fights, one thing that went smoothly was the agreement that the company will have to take money from reserves. Even though there was an agreement on this, people could still not agree on whether the money was to be reported as profit.
People are different, and as expected, our personalities clashed from time to time. DiSC did factor in greatly in the meeting. The CEO had an I personality, which means she places a lot of emphasis on relationships. Her style involves persuasion and making people see the point in whichever suggestion or direction she desires. However, other personalities were present too, and often, people were not being objective but allowed their personalities to dictate their responses. With regard to values, they did factor in the discussion, especially through the legal council, who wanted no part in solutions that were legally questionable. Her stand was that the organization could not put itself in a position that taint...
