Art History: Death of Marat
Jacques-Louis David is an artist who adopted the neoclassical style throughout his works. The Death of Marat is one of his most influential works. He was a great artist, and his style assisted in ending the frivolous approach experienced during the Rococo period. The earlier artists who influenced him include Anton Raphael Mengs, a German painter who utilized the neoclassical style. Another significant influence in his life was Johann Joachim Winckelmann.
