Kimberle Crenshaw's article (ATTACHED) exposes the disjuncture that can exist in non-profit agencies. While agencies may profess certain values and beliefs regarding gender and the rights of those they serve, practices may, in fact, not support those values and beliefs very well. They may even go so far as to undermine their stated values and beliefs.
I would like for you to identify at least one point of contention in the internship you been writing about for me which is DRESS FOR SUCCESS.. Identify an area in which you believe the agency is not fully meeting its stated goals or where you believe practice to be contradictory to their stated mission.
Your critique should not merely identify those points of contention, but should also present a discussion of them and the effects they have on the agency and/or its clients.

Points of Contention at Dress for Success
Although Dress for Success has invested in empowering women, the agency fails in its geographical reach to other countries. This agency has only invested in most countries around the American and European continents. What about the women in continents like Asia and Africa? Statistics reveal that the agency has only invested in at least one location in both continents. Hence, the women living in the areas do not have access to dress for success. Also, the population contains women of color, the most violated demographics among the gender (Crenshaw, 1991). Could the agency be bias in the alignment to empower women? Looking into the spread-out strata of the organization reveals that it has not yielded enough attention to some areas and especially in the black population settlement. Although the agency has not made statements on the issues, it is evident because the founders have had adequate time since its launch in 1997.
Dress for Success is not meeting the mission of serving and helping women find economic independence worldwide since it is only concentrated in some parts of the world. Although the organization might have thought the small spots could create access, I think the organization should consider opening more places in the disintegrated areas to reach maximum numbers of women in the community (Crenshaw, 1991). I realized that the organization could have had the idea of imports in the countries that are close to the reached out locations. Still, most women in the countries cannot afford the cost, and this fact limits their achievement of independence and success. In this case, the women remain enclosed in poverty since they cannot access the motivation process helping the women in contact with the dream of success.
The inconsistent spread out has affected not only the clients but also the agency. Most people in the world see and desire to achieve what other women are gaining from the organization, and the interest could wither into jealousy. In this case, the conspicuous mentality is that the agency is only willing to help women in some continents and not others, resulting in the idea of the existence of a racist setting in its establishment and operation. Hence, the perception affects the organization and its ultimate spread to the affected areas since the populations have built negativity against the agency.
