Historical inventions paved way for the development of the world. There are varieties of inventions, which may fall under either technological "home runs" or technological "singles." Of the technological "home runs", the inventions include the transistor, and the personal stereo falls under the technological "singles." Of the two inventions, I feel that, the transistor has resulted in significant productivity in the world. Apparently, all electronic devices, which exist in the world, have transistors. It is important to note that, the transistor is the building block for processors, and without these transistors, probably servers could be three stories high (Gaudin, 2007).
