Background
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality test used to profile individual personality types. First developed in the 1940s by Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs, the test has been adapted by several scholars over the past several decades. Though at times generating some controversies over its relevancy, it continues to be a tool used by organizations to better understand how individuals’ personalities within their current or potential employees match the identified requirements for various roles.

Conduct some research on the MBTI and the 16 possible personality types; make note of both your score and key findings. You do not have to submit the completed test as part of your report, but should incorporate your score and reflection on key findings in your critical analysis.

Find your personality type and conduct some research on what that personality type says about you.
Write a research paper in which you answer the following:
Did any of the dimensions on your personality type surprise you? i.e., Were you surprised to learn you were an introvert when you thought you were an extrovert?
Do you more closely align with any of the 4 dimensions on the scale? Why?
Do you believe the MBTI is a useful tool for individuals to use? Why or why not?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a widely used professional personality test used to measure personality traits. The self-report questionnaire is designed to show an individual’s psychological preferences relevant in job performance, making meaningful connections and in making decisions and career planning. The results of my self-report questionnaire are indicated above. I must admit that I was a bit surprised b the accuracy of these findings. Within forty minutes into the test, I was perplexed by the degree of introversion. I knew I was a bit of an introvert, by not at 47% preference over extraversion. I was also surprised that I scored a mere 3% in my preference for sensing over intuition. I would have scored my sensing at a relatively higher level. In regards to judging and thinking, I believe that the test is pretty accurate and perfectly describes my personality trait.
Do you more closely align with any of the 4 dimensions on the scale? Why?
I believe I align more closely with thinking and judging. As an introvert, I tend to first things through before acting. Additionally, as an introvert, I prefer more order and set deadlines which require more planning and prior organization when doing my things. Further, I tend to prefer making informed decisions, being orderly and disciplined. According to Kim and Han (2014), a thinking personality is also linked to judging personality. For instance...
