There were useful research studies that were peer reviewed highlighting changing eating habits and motivational interviewing as potentially effective to reduce obesity. Motivation to change behavior is a common theme that represented the willingness of overweight/ obese individuals to lose weight.

Did they help you find additional studies?  The studies in the different databases were useful, but one has to look at the where the study was conducted and whether motivational interviewing approach was a secondary intervention.
