Based on agency law, Uber should be held liable for its drivers’ misconduct. The law states clearly that agents are representatives of their principals. On that note, the behavior of Uber’s drivers affects the reputation of the company. Besides, one of the primary principles of agency law depicts that agents are allowed to deal with third parties based on the conditions or standards set by their principals. In two cases where drivers abused their passengers sexually, the company would have been held accountable if it did not solve the issues internally.
