Moreover, agents are entitled to transacting with third parties on behalf of their principals. However, they must conform to the rules of the agreement. Agents should remain loyal, protect their principals’ confidential information, and adhere to instructions set by them. Based on agency law, Uber should be held liable for its drivers’ misconduct. The law states clearly that agents are representatives of their principals. On that note, the behavior of Uber’s drivers affects the reputation of the company. Besides, one of the primary principles of agency law depicts that agents are allowed to deal with third parties based on the conditions or standards set by their principals. Eric Goldman (2016) affirms that Uber has about 300,000 drivers. In two cases where drivers abused their passengers sexually, the company would have been held accountable if it did not solve the issues internally.
