The First World War was caused by various events, but the tension between European powers whose crisis lead to the division of Europe into two was the main cause. The other events include; Franco-Prussian War. After France lost to Prussia in a war in 1871, it felt humiliated and formed a Germany Empire which was a military to fight the European powers giving rise to the First World War. The second cause was the promotion of Wilhelm II has the Germany Emperor and his failure to renew the Reinsurance Treaty that ensured peace between Russia and France. He created alliance causing the war. The Russo-Japanese war was another cause. Russia lost to Japanese and this was a major blow to them and provokes the formation of a Russia Revolution which was focused on disrupting Europe which led to the war.
The formation of Entente Cordiale was another cause. This was formed after the British decided to form a counterweight to the Germany Empire and entered into an alliance with France and later Russia. This formed a Triple Entente which became Allies in the World War One. The Moroccan Crisis provoked by the Germans to cause tension between France and Britain which led to a war. The Italo- Turkish war was another cause. It led to disagreement within the European powers which caused war. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand also led to World War I.
