The book discusses the various occasions and factors that led to the failure of the British army during the overtaking of Yorktown. The various considerations of morale and the general health of the army played a substantial role in the determination of its strength to overcome the opponents. The health of the British army was compromised when the Americans surrounded the town hence making it difficult for them to access ammunition and food.

In the middle of the revolutionary war, the leaders of New York city faced a lot of challenges regarding their leadership. Among them was the division of the various loyalties and the occupation by the British. The leaders attempted to address the challenges through the creation of committees that would focus of public safety.

Charles lee was of the individuals who served the British army during the American revolutionary war. He was appointed as the top commander in Washington’s continental army but his career fell apart when he was captured and imprisoned by the British army in 1776. He came back in 1778 when he was dismissed from the army.
