Think about why he and many other notables supported this statement, especially the discovery of America. What was so important about this New World across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe? How did it change globalization in terms of trade, culture, societies, innovations, old and new world exchanges, and in other ways?

The discovery of America and the passage of East Indies by the Cape of Good Hope are two significant events in the history which contributed rapid colonization by the western European powers. The event further open ways for new trade commodities. But most importantly, the advances in seafaring and supply preservation. Moreover, this discovery facilitated new contacts between cultures. Although Columbus discovery of new world had a positive contribution to the world, it was also shrouded by violence and death inflicted on peoples indigenous to the western hemisphere. Precisely, the discovery undoubtedly shifted history through creating opportunity and opening up new lands for the European to colonize and conquer western hemisphere. The passage of East Indies further contributed to the introduction of new products like corn, chocolate and tobacco to the rest of the world. Finally, it laid the foundations for the new states for the western hemisphere (Wolf, 1959). This paper will explore the how the discovery of America and the passage of East Indies changed the globalization in term of trade, culture, societies, innovations and old and new world exchanges. The paper will also explore the benefit of New World across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe.
The New World was rich in cultural heritage and natural resources. Through the discovery of America by Columbus, European nations discovered vast natural resources of the New World. The struggle for resources created a period of intense colonization and competition for territory in the America. In response to this, the Native Americans were skeptical of the visitors and resisted against their ill motives. Violent erupted against giving up land to the Europeans. However, the outbreak of diseases like smallpox ravaged the indigenous Americans making the European conquest relatively easy. The introduction of new crops through the Cape of Good Hopes changed the landscape of New World. There was smooth exchange of products like coffee from Africa, wheat from Europe and sugar cane from Asia (Walton, & Rockoff, 2013).
